Nominate Dean for HHS

With the withdrawal of Sen. Tom Daschle from consideration for Secretary of Health and Human Services, President Obama needs a new leader to help push forward the administrations plans for universal healthcare.

We think he should look to a proven health care champion to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services: Dr. Howard Dean. As Governor of Vermont, Dean provided health care to almost all the children and pregnant women of Vermont, all while balancing his state's budget. He has a long history of using his experience as a family doctor to help craft workable solutions to improve families' well-being. He also knows Washington, and can win the political battles necessary to enact comprehensive health care reform.
