Tell Your Representatives:
At tonight's State of the Union address, the president will likely touch on the social safety net and the need for a "grand bargain" to reduce the deficit. While we were able to push the president away from reducing medicare benefits for the elderly, it appears we have more work to do to communicate that Chained-CPI -- which steadily reduces your earned Social Security benefits as you age -- is unacceptable, too.
As our elected representatives listen to tonight's speech, we want them to remember their constituents want to expand, not cut, benefits from these programs.
Call your senators and member of congress to oppose any plan that cuts Social Security benefits:
