Just Say Now - Legalize Marijuana

Why Does the DEA Reject the Science on Marijuana?
Call DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart: (202)-307-8000

When she testified before congress last month, DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart refused to answer Rep. Jared Polis repeated questions as to whether marijuana was as harmful as other Schedule I drugs such as heroin. Her only response was that "all illegal drugs are bad."

However, science disagrees. A recent study sponsored by the State of California and published in the Open Neurology Journal called the federal classification of marijuana as a Schedule I drug "not accurate" and "not tenable" and concluded that marijuana does indeed provide relief to patients who suffer chronic pain.

Can you call DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart and ask her if she still believes marijuana is "bad", even if government-funded science disagrees.

Sample script:

Hello, my name is ____{name}____ and I'm calling about Administrator Leonhart's recent statements to congress about marijuana. The administrator told Rep. Jeff Polis "all illegal drugs are bad." Science disagrees.

A California state-sponsored study said the federal government's Schedule I classification of marijuana is "untenable" because marijuana has real medical benefits.

Does the administrator stand by her statements even though science disagrees?
